Lighting the house, the Dom’s way

Over 320 lights, sorted into the sub-ranges that match how people actually shop: fairy strings, solar, battery operated, icicle, curtain, net, rope, path and firecracker lights, plus pre-lit frames and the accessories that keep it all running.

Plug-in, solar or battery?

Mains-powered strings are the workhorses for trees and verandahs near a power point. Solar sets — like the 240 and 500-light fairy sets — handle fence lines and gardens where no cord will reach, and battery-operated pieces (the 300-light LED icicle set among them) light wreaths, mantels and windows without an extension lead in sight.

Frames and feature pieces

Pre-lit frames are the fast track to a front yard that stops traffic — a metre-wide Bethlehem star, even a BOO ghost for Halloween, because the Shed’s open during our regular hours (or by appointment when we’re closed) — alongside lit motif pieces like a grazing 3D deer and crossed candy canes. For movement, there are meteor lightshow effects, cluster lights with a 20-metre waterfall run, and an RGB ball you drive from a remote.

Getting it home

Lights run from around $18.95 up to about $149 for the big feature pieces. Afterpay and Zip are at the checkout, everything ships to most of Australia (except WA & NT), and Brisbane locals can collect free from the Archerfield showroom.

Christmas light FAQs

Solar, battery or plug-in — which should I buy?

Plug-in for trees and spots near a power point, solar for fence lines and gardens with good sun, battery for wreaths, mantels and windows where cords are a pain.

Can I use these lights outdoors?

Many are made for it — including the solar ranges — but ratings vary by product, so check the individual product page before stringing the eaves.

How many lights does a Christmas tree need?

There's no magic number — denser reads brighter, and you can always layer strings. Sets in this range come in counts like 240 and 500 lights, so size up if you want real sparkle.

Do lights ship safely?

Yes — everything ships to most of Australia (except WA & NT) packed with care, or collect free from the Archerfield showroom in Brisbane.
